Worship

Worship is the time when the community of St Matthew joins for inspiration, challenge, and to recharge for the mission we share during the week.

Music

St. Matthew's worship is undergirded with the musical support of our adult choir and pipe organ. There are many opportunities for instrumentalists and vocalists to participate in worship.

Adults & Young Adults

Adults and young adults at St Matthew find connection with others and opportunities to learn and serve.

Children & Youth

Children are gifted and valued members of St. Matthew!  We want to nurture our children’s faith and include them in the life of the congregation.

Prayer

Prayer is central to what we do at St Matthew.  At worship, meetings, and activities, we join hands to pray.  If you have a private request for prayer, you can leave it under the visit us section or call the office at (860) 673-3301.  Prayer requests are shared with a group dedicated to support others by praying the needs of others.

Partners

St Matthew joins with partner ministries to serve our neighbors.  We cook meals for Grace Lutheran Church’s five times a year, and serve the meals monthly at their Friday Night Gatherings.  We partner with Gifts of Love in Avon and the Canton Food Bank to provide groceries for families in need.  We offer a work placement for a student with developmental disabilities from FAVARH.  We support the development work of the ELCA World Hunger Appeal and Disaster Relief, and the mission starts and justice work of the New England Synod.  We are looking to develop greater connections to people doing good work in the Farmington Valley, Greater Hartford, and the world.

Committees

We are people active in our lives of service and faithfulness, living in God’s undeserved grace.  Do you have gifts you could share with any of the ministry teams listed below?  We welcome your participation.  Please contact the Pastor for ways you can become more involved!
